KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Lee’s Summit Police Department has confirmed that the man who was shot and killed at Californos in Westport Sunday night was a School Resource Officer.
Thomas Orr is listed as the School Resource Officer of Campbell Middle School on the Lee’s Summit Police Department’s webpage.
Orr was shot and killed on the back patio of Californos Restaurant Sunday night after an argument broke out between patrons.
Orr was not involved in that argument – the Kansas City Police Department confirms he was an innocent bystander.
A woman was also shot that night. She was taken to the hospital with a serious gunshot wound to the arm.
The suspect in this case fled the scene immediately after the shooting. He remains at large.
